Shipping

Where are your products shipped from?

We are proud to be 100% Canadian. Our products are all shipped from Calgary, Alberta and are manufactured in Alberta. Avoid the hassle of duties, brokerage and exchange rate. Everything listed on the site is in CAD.

How is the product shipped?

Draft boards and draft kits will come rolled up in a square tube that is 2" x 2" x 37" long. The labels are rolled up inside the board. We strongly recommend you remove the labels immediately upon receiving the draft kit and flatten them out.

Orders of player labels only will come shipped in an envelope.

All shipments come with a tracking number.

How is shipping calculated?

Shipping is done via Canada Post. DraftKit.ca does not make a profit on shipping, we simply pass the Canada Post rates onto you.

How quickly do you ship and what are the costs?

Your order is shipped out at the latest the next business day. The cutoff for shipping is 9 am EST for overnight delivery. That is, expect your order to be shipped out the next business day for most orders unless you order early in the morning. We compile our orders from the previous day and overnight to ship in the morning!

Our default is to ship Canada Post Expedited. For quicker service choose Canada Post Xpresspost. Canada Post Priority shipping is good for next business day delivery in most of Canada, and 2 days to Northern and Atlantic Canada. This is generally correct for packages going to major cities but if you live in a more rural area please allow for up to two extra business days. We recommend you order early if this is the case.

In all cases, we strongly advise you to ORDER EARLY and give yourself some time! Even though the shipping may quote 3 business days, sometimes things get delayed or the pick up doesn't occur the next day and your shipment may be one day late.

Approximate shipping costs and times for up to 3 draft kits are noted below. We now feature real-time shipping quotes at checkout. As shipping has increased especially after the pandemic, your best bet is to go through the checkout process to get a quote on pricing.

My product arrived damaged. What do I do?

If your product arrived damaged please contact us as soon as possible and we will initiate a claim with Canada Post. We will also work with you individually to make sure that you are able to have your draft on time! These incidents occur very rarely and we are happy to help with custom support for the odd time that it does.

I live around Calgary, can I pick up from locally?

Unfortunately, we do not offer local pickup even if you live in Calgary. In short, it simply disrupts our operations too much compared to having Canada Post come once a day and grab all our packages.

Returns

Can I return my draft kit?

Please contact us to let us know you wish to return your draft kit. Due to the limited shelf life of the product, we will only accept returns up to 7 days before the start of the season. The product must be undamaged. That is, the draft board must not have any creases or folds in it and none of the labels peeled off. Upon receiving and inspecting the return we will credit you with the purchase price of the order.

Digital copies are non-refundable.

The buyer is responsible for shipping the product back to us. For quoting purposes the box is 2" x 2" x 37" and weighs around 1 lb with everything inside.

Product Questions

Is the draft board reusable?

The draft kit is designed for single time use. We considered a laminated version of the board as an option for customers, but we decided against this for three reasons:

(1) the cost of lamination is very high, (2) it would be a big hassle for the customer to remove all the stickers after the draft is complete, and (3) shipping the product would be more difficult.

If you wish to have a laminated copy, we recommend after receiving your draft kit, you take it to a local print shop for lamination. In future years, you can order our label sets for your live draft.

Why do the labels come rolled up?

In order to minimize the already high shipping costs in Canada, we have found rolling up the labels as the most effective way to package the draft kits. The main problem is it can be hard to use the labels if they are immediately taken out of the kit to be used during the draft because they maintain their rolled up shape.

Due to this problem, we recommend you order your draft kit early and immediately remove the labels from the kit when it arrives. Place the labels under something heavy to flatten out and they should ready to use for your draft.

Digital Copies

I got my digital draft board and player labels, what now?

Draft Board
Both the 12 and 16 team draft boards are designed to be printed on a plotter with a 36" paper roll. If you don't have access to a plotter you will need to find a print shop that can do large format printing. Our board is designed to be printed in black and white.

Labels
Our labels are printed on a standard 14 label per sheet template. The labels themselves are 4" x 1.3". Load your printer up with the label sheets and make sure that any page scaling is disabled. This should be in your Page Setup or Printer Settings. Then hit print. If you are unable to turn off page scaling you may have to play around with the scaling percentages to get a good fit. We recommend you print a test sheet to do this. You can find label sheets at any staples or office depot or similar. They are similar to Avery #5162.

If you still are having trouble for any reason contact us and we will do our best to walk you through the process.

Creating Accounts

What will creating an account do?

Creating an account will enable you to save your shopping cart if you are logging in from multiple PCs, such as at work and then again at home. You should use this future if you want to save your cart while you check and make sure your league is willing to chip in for a draft kit.
